Our key findings from June 2024:
- Since June 2022, a ‘cost of living increase’ has remained as the main reason for debt, with one in five (20%) clients citing this in June 2024
- In June 2024 two-third (67%) of clients had credit card debts, which is one percentage point higher than June 2023 (66%)
- Two in five (39%) clients were in receipt of Universal Credit in June 2024, which is one percentage point higher than June 2023 (38%)
- The proportion of men seeking debt advice in June 2024 is 39%, which is three percentage points higher than the same time last year (June 2023 = 36%)
- Just over two in five (43%) clients seeking debt advice were in full-time employment which is two percentage points higher than June 2023 (41%)
