As the ONS announces that private rental prices have risen by 8.7% in the 12 months to October, up from the previous month’s figure of 8.4%, new YouGov polling by StepChange Debt Charity reveals over half (53%) of private renters are struggling to keep up with bills and credit commitments, while one in three (32%) are using credit to afford rent. Scotland in the Red: Looking at the picture for Scots dealing with problem debt
